Afraid to Measure
I have tried so many diet and fitness programs in the past, and with each one I have taken the before photos, did the measurements with great expectations only to fail. When I first started working out in August of 2015, I didn’t take photos because I was afraid that I would not succeed. Of course I have photos of that time, and they did take my measurements at the gym, but I didn’t look at them.
The other day I was posting some Throwback Thursday photos on my personal Facebook page. After I posted the photo I had to laugh, I had not meant to post before and after photos, I was actually just posting photos taken at the time of each of our two weddings. And worse, our before and after photos showed ALL the weight we had gained over the years!
- The first photo was taken almost 20 years ago. It is of my husband and I before our first wedding.
- The second photo was taken right after our second wedding, two years ago on our second honeymoon in Hawaii.
My Role As I Trainer
As a fitness trainer I teach other people to exercise, and yes, I am very active in my job. During the last 6 months I have become fitter and have so much more energy and I have shrunk in size, however I did not think I had lost much weight, even though I eat a healthy diet every day, and do work out.
Today as I was writing down my progress, I realized I have lost 30 pounds, in the last six months!!!
What Did I Do to Shed Thirty Pounds?
To SHED thirty pounds in six months, I worked out everyday, sometimes even 13 hours a week. This is not a normal way to work out! However, as a fitness instructor, I was working a lot of hours, and teaching two to three hours a day.
- I also have been eating healthy whole foods, and not eating white foods, or processed junk foods.
A few months ago I realized I needed to make my own goals, so I signed up for the gym, however I am often called to sub additional fitness classes, and then end up not being able to go.
Here is our progress photo, we still have some ways to go, but we are healthy, and fit!
It is now time to set new goals for myself if I want to reach my goal, of being the best I can be, and really hone in what I want to do for myself and my own body.
DVD’s & My Own Schedule Will Work
This morning I signed up to start the PiYo program by Beachbody, all I have to do now, is just press play, and work out in my own home.
I Took My Measurements!
My Transformation Begins
Today when I woke up I knew I had to measure and weigh myself. I have had six months of success with my exercise program, and success in my clean eating program, and I am ready to move to the next level!
Here Are My Goals
- Getting rid of the size 18+ or XL clothes in my closet. ( I already did this, and it felt great to give my clothes away to a friend.)
- Shed 10 pounds and be on my way down the scale.
My goal is to shed 10 pounds or more and shed 5 or more inches off my waist, hips and upper thighs in 60 days with the PiYo. I will also continue to have success with my clean diet. Utilizing the power of smoothies, juicing, salads and soups to detoxify my body and be the best I can be.
- I also teach 2 cardio, strength classes where I do a lot of walking and some jogging. I do light resistance training.
